The study finds that electric vehicles have a lower marginal cost per person ($0.018 MXN) than gasoline vehicles ($0.1322 MXN) in Mexico City, even when considering additional emissions from power generation plants. However, the regional distribution of pollution is crucial, as shifting emissions from gasoline vehicles to electricity generation may lead to increased pollution in other areas.
